Charles Wayne Brittingham

SMYRNA - Charles Wayne Brittingham passed away on Jan. 23, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Dec. 21, 1944 in Queen Anne, Md., the son of the late James and Myrtle Brittingham. He worked for many years as a Union Iron Worker. Charles attended London Village Baptist Church in Magnolia and had a desire to learn more of the scripture and the Lord. He looked forward to going to church every week as long as he was able. He leaves behind his caregiver and friend, Donna Schurman and family; his aunt, Beulah (Clarence) Schwatka; step-daughter, Anne (Bear) Hawthorne; and distant extended family members. A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon. A private burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Delaware Hospice. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19904. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
