MILLINGTON, MD -Charles W. Wiest of Millington, Md. died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 2nd, 2013 in the Chester River Manor Chestertown, Md. Mr. Wiest was born on the farm where he most recently lived. He was the son of the late J. Harry and Lula Benton Wiest. Mr. Wiest spent his life working at his lifelong love, farming. He farmed and also picked and hauled sweet corn for W. L. Wheatley for many years. Mr. Wiest was an avid model car collector and enjoyed working on the family swimming pool for many years. He also enjoyed classic cars, traveling and playing cards with family and friends. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Millington, Md., Southern States Coop. and Moose Lodge. Mr. Wiest spent many years watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play ball and other sports. He loved his pets especially his dogs but he will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wiest is predeceased by a brother, James Wiest. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eva Mae Wiest; two sons, Charles Eugene Wiest and his wife Gloria of Millington, Md. and Gary E. Wiest of Millington, Md.; three grandchildren, Robert Wiest (Darin), Tammy Black and her husband Jimmy and Tyler Wiest and his wife Lindsay; and two great-grandchildren, James Austin Black and Allison Michele Black. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Carolyn Coleman, Virginia Hollett, Dot Chance and husband Bill; many nieces and nephews; and special niece, Donna Crossley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, MD. where friends and family may call after 10:00 am. Interment will follow the services in the Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the Asbury United Methodist Church, P.O.
