Charles N. Thomas

MILFORD - Charles N. Thomas passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Seaford Center in Seaford. He was born in Milford on Sept. 17, 1911, son of the late Charles M. and Laure E. (Short) Thomas. Mr. Thomas enjoyed a 35 year career with Allied Chemical Corporation and retired in September of 1973. He thoroughly loved gardening and had a large garden filled with vegetables and colorful roses. Charles also enjoyed spending time fishing, feeding birds and doing needlepoint. Mr. Thomas is survived by his son, R. Richard Thomas and wife Debi of Seaford; seven grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Jr., Russell Thomas, Jr., April Cheesman, Joseph Thomas, Angie Willin, Amy Littleton and Trisha Newcomer; many great and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dottie Adams and husband Bunk; and many extended family members. A Viewing will be held today, Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St. Bridgeville, DE 19933. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist in defraying funeral expenses.
