FRUITLAND - Charles Edward Pruitt died surrounded by family and friends, on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at his home. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Clonie Cleveland Pruitt and Nannie Edna Mae Vance Gross Pruitt. He attended the Fruitland Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. He was self-employed at Plus Electrical Apparatus repair and was a former employee at DEMCO. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Georgia; a daughter, Tina M. Davis of Laurel; four sons, Charles Pruitt Jr. of Lakeland, Fla., John Hilton of Powellville, Shane Hilton of Parsonsburg and Shannon Hilton of Fruitland; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; four sisters; six brothers; an adopted son, Ricky Hayes; and an adopted grandson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother. A funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Union Greenbackville Cemetery in Stockton.
