Charles E. Betz

HOUSTON - Charles E. Betz, Jr, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Charles was born on November 12, 1939 in Long Branch, N.J., son of the late Charles E., Sr. and Catherine (Blanchard) Betz. Mr. Betz was a veteran of the National Guard and was stationed at the armory in Long Branch during his time of service. He was employed as a sanitation engineer for 30 years with the Township of Ocean Public Works in New Jersey, retiring in 2009. In addition to his parents, Mr. Betz was preceded in death by a son, John Betz; and his brother, John J. Betz. He is survived by two sons, Charles J. Betz, Jr. of Houston and Joey Buhler of Del.; two daughters, Catherine T. Vannote of Felton and Kathleen Buhler of Neptune, N.J.; nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to help defray funeral expenses to Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, DE, 19963.
