DOVER — Kent County Chapter 850, Vietnam Veterans of America, will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony, Thursday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Kent County Veterans Memorial Park, S. Little Creek Road. This year’s celebration will not feature a speaker but rather honor all those who have served, especially those who have served in the Middle East with organizational tributes.
All of the chapter’s event are open to the public. Attendees are reminded to take precautions relative to masks and social distancing. VVA Chapter 850 is active in the community and includes more than 230 members and 35 associate members. The chapter is best known for building the Veterans Memorial Park honoring Kent Countians lost in Vietnam, Korea and the Middle East and its Gold Star Families memorial. The park also includes a POW/MIA Chair of Honor, a war dog memorial and a UH-1 “Huey” helicopter.
