Channing K. Marshall

GEORGETOWN - Mr. Channing K. Marshall, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. Mr. Marshall was born on Feb. 5, 1926 in Bristol, N.H. to the late Clifford and Emma Cunningham Marshall. Channing was employed by United Engineers as a superintendent of engineers for approximately 30 years. He helped build the Indian River and Beesley's Point power plants. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union for 50 years. He loved all sports, especially golf and skiing. His favorite team was the New England Patriots. He played semi-pro baseball and was offered contracts by both the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and person who will be missed. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Lyman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Dorothy Gannon Marshall; daughters, Linda Joines and her husband Lee, Janet Perone and her husband John.; grandchildren, Jonathon Joines, Shannon Joines, Rachel Barbagello and her husband Gregg, John Perone, Jr., Channing Perone and his wife Allie and Allison Perone; great granddaughter, Isabella; siblings, Robert, Barbara, Ethel, Ann and Frances. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Bob Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice in Channing's memory. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com.
