The Military Affairs Committee of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce welcomes you, the community, chamber members and friends to the Dover Air Force Base’s Annual State of the Base Briefing Breakfast on Monday, Nov. 21, from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. at The Landings located at 479 Chevron Avenue, Dover Air Force Base. Signature sponsor, Delaware Technical Community College, is proud to support this event to connect our civilians and service personnel here in central Delaware.

One does not need to be in Dover long to know that Dover Air Force Base is an incredibly indispensable aspect of our community and has been for nearly 75 years. The hard-working military personnel stationed at Dover Air Force Base not only impact and protect our nation, but also our immediate community here in Dover. The impact of their service creates ripple effects throughout central Delaware that send waves of positive economic, cultural, and emotional change, long after their deployment. The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce is proud to have such a strong relationship with Dover Air Force Base and those who serve our community and country.

The Annual State of the Base Briefing and Breakfast is just one of the many ways that the chamber’s Military Affairs Committee strengthens that relationship. The mid-flight eagle Abilene Trophy that soared in the CDCC office this past year (for the fourth time) is a constant reminder of the pride, that not only the CDCC has in the relationship with our servicemen and women, but a reflection of the entire Central Delaware community as well. We could not imagine Central Delaware without the companionship and dedicated service of every single person at DAFB — the CDCC and your community thanks you for your service.

The CDCC community is encouraged to attend to meet, mingle, and learn in-depth about the wonderful acts of service the DAFB has completed throughout the year, and about plans for the future. Keynote speaker, Colonel Matthew S. Husemann, 436th Airlift Commander, will expand on the Base’s plan for longevity and growth. In addition to the presence of Colonel Husemann, many Commanders that comprise his team will be present as well to engage with attendees and share their expertise. Guests can expect to meet and hear from Senator Carper, Senator Coons, and U.S. Representative Lisa Blunt-Rochester as well.

The CDCC wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to our signature sponsor, Delaware Technical Community College. We also wish to thank our platinum sponsors Century Engineering, Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, Dover Federal Credit Union, Harrington Raceway & Casino, Kraft Heinz, L & W Insurance, PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dover, and R & R Commercial Realty and our Supporting Sponsors Air Force Association Galaxy Chapter, C.S. Kidner Associates / Capitol Strategies, CNU Fit, LLC, Dover Behavioral Health Systems, Dover Motor Speedway, First Command, George & Lynch, Landmark Science and Engineering, Tidewater Utilities, Inc., and Wilmington University. Thank you to all our sponsors for making this event a success again this year.

The State of the Base Briefing is open to the public. Admission to the event is $30 per person and includes breakfast. Participants must register in advance by TODAY Tuesday, November 1st. Due to security requirements for DAFB entry access, each attendee will need to provide their full name, date of birth, driver’s license number and state of issue. To ensure the safety of all who attend, appropriate safety protocols will be in place.
