Anyone who has spent even a little time visiting Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) understands that the mission there is all about the planes. Transporting troops to various installations around the world… delivering supplies or assisting in evacuations after a natural disaster… supplying much needed equipment to military personnel down range… gently carrying the fallen home to their loved ones… that’s what Team Dover is all about. The mission at DAFB is to safely fix and fly aircraft, prepare, and deploy Airmen, move cargo, and return America’s fallen heroes with dignity, honor, and respect.
But have you ever wondered how that all happens? Do you know what it takes to get those planes off the ground? Have you any idea of the details and precision that must be involved to make what Team Dover does look so seamless? The CDCC’s Annual State of the Base Briefing is specifically designed to answer those questions and more.
The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) Military Affairs Committee is excited to remind you that the Annual State of the Base Briefing Breakfast brought to you by Signature Sponsor Delaware Technical Community College will be held on Monday, Nov. 22, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., at The Landings at DAFB. The event promises to be a wonderful celebration of TEAM Dover.
For more than 70 years, the Dover Air Force Base has been an integral part of our Central Delaware community. We are proud to be home to all the men and women who make up the workforce at the base. Each year there are many projects happening at DAFB that have a significant impact on the community. Guests at the breakfast will hear an in-depth briefing by Colonel Matthew S. Husemann, 436th Airlift Commander, in which he will describe the past year’s base activities and projects that have been completed to prepare the base for long term viability. He will also share information about future projects being planned. In addition, participants will meet many members of the Colonel’s team, and will have the opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments of the base’s personnel. Also, our congressional delegation will be on hand to share remarks regarding U. S. military activities and their impact on our nation and worldwide.
This event serves as one of the many opportunities civilians have to connect with our military personnel and celebrate the bond we share as Team DOVER. These men and women are, for the duration of their time here, members of our Central Delaware community. They are our neighbors, our colleagues, and our friends – and their presence here has a significant positive impact on our community. This event provides a wonderful opportunity to show them our support and our gratitude.
The CDCC wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to our signature sponsor, Delaware Technical Community College.
