Chamber Connection: CDCC offers educational opportunities

Posted

The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) places a high priority on education for its business members. We live and work in a fast-paced, always changing world — and the Chamber understands the importance of staying informed. The educational opportunities offered by the CDCC are part of what makes the Chamber THE essential resource for the development of businesses in Central Delaware.

Chamber members will have several opportunities in the coming weeks to engage in learning alongside fellow members, all of which are free benefits that come with Chamber membership!

On Thursday, Oct. 7, Kent Open for Business (KOB) will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. in Room 220 at Kent County Levy Court. This free business development session is designed to encourage and support small businesses throughout the state. Each meeting provides existing and start-up businesses a one-stop-shop to access the various organizations, agencies, and resource partners who assist small businesses in Delaware. Whether you are interested in starting a business or expanding a business, KOB promises to be a valuable experience.

On Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 8 to 9 a.m., members are invited to attend the CDCC’s Coffee Coaching session. This month’s Coffee Coaching, presented by Tracy Ingram of Profit Launch Bookkeeping, will focus on the topic “8 Critical Steps to Set Up Your Business for Financial Success Today and Manage Your Daily Finances.” In this session, participants will learn how to set a solid financial foundation, improve business, and make confident financial decisions by applying eight simple, actionable tasks to help manage and understand finances — and be prepared for tax time.

On Thursday, Oct. 14, beginning at noon, the CDCC will hold its monthly Member Orientation. The CDCC’s Member Orientation sessions are design to help folks get the most out of their CDCC memberships. The Chamber wants its members to get everything they can from the services, events, and activities offered, but that can only happen if people know what they are, and which ones will most benefit them and their businesses.

Member Orientation is not just for new members, they are also for current members who have been with the Chamber for some time. The Chamber wants to ensure that everyone stays current on all that is happening and is especially concerned that its members are aware of new opportunities that come along and new services as they are added. Often attendance at these sessions is followed by the creation or the review of members’ 5-Star Journey Maps. The CDCC staff is here to meet with each member to create a journey map that will assist them in remaining engaged, making the most of their membership, and reaching 5-Star Membership.

If you are not yet a member of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce and are interested in hearing more about the benefits of Chamber membership, we would be happy to hear from you! Call today to schedule a meeting a CDCC staff member.
