Auction Update - time extended.
On Friday the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce anounced that due to overwhelming response and requests for more time the chamber is extending its online holiday auction until 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24.
The holidays look a little different every year, and it’s best to start shopping sooner rather than later. There’s a laundry list of problems plaguing the retail sector right now, including labor shortages, lack of inventory, and eager consumers ready to spend. This holiday season is shaping up to be a mad dash. Mix high costs and low supply, with shoppers’ anxiety about finding the right gifts, and the holiday shopping season could quickly become a nightmare.
Online silent auctions are often used by organizations to raise money for a specific cause. When most of us think of an auction, we think of a room full of people, yelling out bids on auction items being presented. A silent auction is different from that. Silent auctions eliminate the need for guests to stand around in long lines, save on fuel and the possible engagement of parking wars, porch pirating, aching feet, the hauling of merchandise and retail redundancy.
Ssshhh. We have the solution. Shop from the comfort of your home at the 19th Annual Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, 2022 Holiday Silent Auction- The Beat of Business. The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce’s (CDCC) Annual Holiday Gift Auction is now live online at secure.qgiv.com/event/cdccauction2022
The items collected for the online silent auction are donated by local merchants of large and small businesses in our community, and cherished members of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce. The items cover a wide range of things including gift cards, gift certificates, experiences and more. Guests are allowed to bid on as many items as they want. Silent Auction bidding will be, available online from Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. – Oct. 21 at 6 p.m.
The silent auction features over 150 unique items. All items purchased on the silent auction will be available for pick-up on Oct. 26 at the CDCC’s live auction event. The live in-person auction at Maple Dale Country Club, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., is where guests will mix and mingle, eat and drink, and have a grand ole’ time ushering in the holiday season. Under the direction of Steve Harrell, the CDCC’s riveting auctioneer, the bidding will begin at 6 p.m. Event ticket and bidder registration is $10.
