DOVER - Cecelia Stanley, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Cecelia was born, Dec. 4, 1927, in Easton, Md., to the late, Elliott & Beatrice (Councell) Sharp. Cecelia worked for the City of Dover, as a secretary for over 30 years, before retiring in 1986. She had also worked at DuPont and while her husband, Clarence, served in the military she served as a clerk at Fort Meade from 1944-1946. Cecelia was a member of Faith Community Church and in her spare time loved to read, do word puzzles, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and two sisters, Evelyn Lynch and Catherine Hickson. Cecelia is survived by her three children, Sandra McDougall & her husband, Ralph of Hartly, Andrew Stanley & wife, Susan of Middletown, and John Stanley, of Dover; a grandson, Ralph McDougall, Jr. an wife Sarah; a sister, Florence Truitt; & brother, Elliott Sharp, Jr, both from Easton, Md.; and three great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Garrett McDougall and Skylar Runkle. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at Faith Community Church, 2240 S. DuPont Hwy., Camden, where family and friends may view from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will take place the following day at 11 a.m., in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.
