WOOLFORD - Carolyn N. LeCompte, 69, of Woolford, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at her home. She was born in New Stanton, Pa., on July 23, 1941, and was a daughter of the late Milton A. Noon, MD and Lucille Bradshaw Noon. Carolyn attended New Stanton Elementary and Junior High School and High School at Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, Va. She graduated from Goucher College in Towson, where she majored in Spanish and Psychology, and was a member of the school chorus. Carolyn studied piano and voice, and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She was also interested in genealogy. She enjoyed boating, tennis and horseback riding with her family. She loved flower gardening, and loved to feed and watch her birds and ducks. Carolyn faced her illness with bravery and a resolve to not let it rule her life. She was tireless in her efforts to encourage and cheer her fellow chemo patients. Her participation in clinical trials has helped to forge the way for new therapies and an eventual cure for cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen LeCompte Ferguson and her husband Bart S. Ferguson of Trappe; a son, Anthony M. LeCompte and his wife Jennifer A. LeCompte of Woolford; two grandsons, Alexander Granville LeCompte and Stephen Joseph LeCompte. She is also survived by a sister, Eleanor Noon Triplett and her husband William C. Triplett II of Woolford; and two nephews, Gordon B. Triplett and his wife Julia Triplett and Edward P. Triplett and his wife Jocelyn Triplett; three great nieces and great nephews, Evelyn Triplett, Jack Triplett and Charlotte Triplett; and a companion, David L. Thomas, Jr. Memorial service was 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Milton United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. Interment will be private. Family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made, in her name, to Tate Cancer Center, Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Attn. Delores Davis, Suite 231, 300 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
