SALISBURY - Carolyn Brainard Merriam Brown died Dec. 10, 2017, at her home in Mallard Landing in Salisbury. Born in Montague City, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Frank Merriam and Margaret Griffin Merriam. She was the twin sister to Jean Merriam and younger sister to Martha Merriam.
She graduated from Shore County Day school in 1938 and Wellsley College in 1942. Upon graduation she accepted employment in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. Coast Guard and Geodetic Survey.
In 2000, she and her husband, Allan Robert Brown they settled in Salisbury and resided at Mallard Landing.
She is survived by her husband and three sons, Stephen, Gordon and Keith; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Wicomico Presbyterian Church in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
