LEWES - Carol H. Carey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Milford, Del. on Feb. 13, 1946, daughter of the late Carroll and Anna (Mason) Harrison. Mrs. Carey grew up in Seaford and graduated from Seaford High School in 1964. She attended Goldey Beacom College and graduated with a business degree. Mrs. Carey began working within the Real Estate industry with the Anderson Stokes Realtors, earning her Real Estate license in 1983. Due to her extensive knowledge of the area and all her hard work, Mrs. Carey was named Sussex County Realtor Associate of the Year in 1987. Mrs. Carey served in many capacities within the Delaware and Sussex County Association of Realtors including serving on the Education and Grievance committees. She was a past Director of the Delaware Association of Realtors and past Director of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Carey was one of the founders of Affinity Realty located in Lewes which opened in 2004. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her "Grand Dog," Skeeter. In addition to her husband, Paul G. Carey, Carol is survived by her son, Graves Carey and wife Maggie of Lewes, Del; her two brothers, Larry E. Harrison and wife, Monica of Dover, Del. and Timothy M. Harrison of Seaford, Del.; and her sister, Candy Wheatley and husband, Randy of Seaford, Del. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at 7 p.m. at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3072 Savannah East Drive, Lewes, where friends and family may call beginning at 6 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Carey's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Tunnell Cancer Center, c/o Beebe Medical Foundation, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
