Carol E. Weeks

DOVER – Carol E. Weeks passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Capital Nursing Home. Carol was born on Oct. 16, 1940, in Newark, N.J., daughter of the late Adele (Lawrence) and Melvin Mumford. She had worked as a nurse for the Delaware Hospital for The Chronically Ill in Smyrna for 23 years. Carol loved crocheting, vacationing at the Outer Banks, N.C. and spending time with family. She also enjoyed her garden and flowers. Carol is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy J. Macklin. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Weeks; three children, James L. Weeks (Judith) of Dover, Paul L. Weeks (Susie) of Felton, and Deborah C. Weeks of Milford; three brothers, Melvin L. Mumford of Vero Beach, Fla.; Charles F. Mumford of Hockessin, and Lawrence Mumford of North East, Md.; a sister, Barbara Mumford of Bolivar, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kristen, Michelle, Heather, Amanda and Zachary; a great granddaughter, Ariaana; and her pet dog, Chloe. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Christ Episcopal Church, 501 S. State St., Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934, Delaware Hospice Center, 911 S.
