Cape Henlopen and Smyrna High will square off on Thursday at Milford at 7 p.m. to decide the Henlopen Conference Northern Division title in boys’ basketball.

The special playoff game was necessary after the Vikings and Eagles both finished 11-1 in the North and split their two regular-season meetings against each other. The winner advances to the Henlopen Conference championship game, which will be played Friday evening at Dover High.

Cape Henlopen earned its place in the tie with a 50-48 victory over Caesar Rodney on Monday night.

Neither the North playoff game nor the conference title game count towards the teams’ point totals for the DIAA state tournament. The state tourney bracket will be determined on Friday.
