DOVER - Judy Goddard, 52, of Camden-Wyoming, was arrested on multiple charges after she was located inside of a stolen vehicle on Saturday, authorities said.
Delaware State Police spokesperson Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell said that at approximately 12:48 p.m., troopers responded to Royal Farms at 5456 North DuPont Highway for a report of a stolen vehicle. It was reported that a blue 1997 Chevrolet Silverado, stolen out of Maryland, was parked in the parking lot, police said.
Upon troopers’ arrival, the Silverado was located attempting to leave the parking lot, police said. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and took the driver Ms. Goddard into custody without incident. A computer inquiry confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Caroline County, Md, police said.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two stolen firearms, stolen power tools, drug paraphernalia, and approximately 1.12 grams of methamphetamine, police said.
Ms. Goddard was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, receiving a stolen firearm, receiving stolen property over $1,500, possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property under $1,500 (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, and fictitious registration plate. She was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $9,250 secured bond.
