DOVER — Local McDonald’s owner/operator Michael Meoli announced Thursday the upcoming closure of the McDonald’s restaurant located inside Walmart at 263 Walmart Drive in Camden effective March 31.

All crewmembers and management at the Camden McDonald’s have been notified of the closure and have been offered positions at another McDonald’s restaurant within The Meoli Companies organization. Employee schedules, compensation and benefits will be honored at their new restaurant location.

After March 31, customers are encouraged to visit one of the nearby McDonald’s restaurants in Dover at 1704 E. Lebanon Road; 915 S. Dupont Highway and 1424 Forrest Ave.

The Meoli Companies, which now operates 25 McDonald’s restaurants across the Delmarva Peninsula, has intent to open a new, modernized, free-standing McDonald’s restaurant in Camden later this year. Details on the proposed site location and build will be released in the coming months.
