SMYRNA - Callie Waters Jr. of Smyrna died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, in Green Valley Pavilion Nursing Home, Smyrna. He was 65.
Mr. Waters was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Winter Garden, Fla., son of Sarah Waters-Allen and the late Callie Waters Sr.
He migrated to Delaware in the mid-1950s, where he attended the Indian River School District. He was best known for his jokester ways and was a thorn in everyone's side, yet everyone still loved him
Mr. Waters was a resident in Green Valley Pavilion Nursing Home since December 2001.
He is survived by his dear mother, Sarah Waters-Allen of Millsboro; two sisters, Alberta Turner and Betty Burton, both of Millsboro; a brother, Orvis "Gabel" Allen of Millsboro; an aunt, Marie Smith of Rentz, Ga.; his wife, Bertha (Cannon) Waters of Passaic, N.J.; two daughters, Pamela Waters-Ellen and Carolyn Waters; a stepdaughter, Kim Waters of Passaic; a brother-in-law, Wilbert Turner of Millsboro; three grandchildren of Passaic; five great-grandchildren of Passaic; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Pentecostal Church of God, Millsboro, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Mount Joy Cemetery, Millsboro.
