Calvin L. Allen allegedly threw three bricks of heroin after exiting a vehicle on Coverdale Road and failed to comply with an order to stop fleeing at approximately 8 p.m., authorities said. He was then taken into custody without further incident, police said.
Police said Mr. Allen was found with approximately 81.9 grams (11,700 bags) of heroin, approximately 3.84 grams of crack cocaine and $1,081 in suspected drug proceeds.
Mr. Allen was charged with possession with intent to deliver a Tier 3 quantity, possession with intent to deliver, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts) and traffic offenses.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3, Georgetown, and a $148,105 cash bond was issued. An administrative warrant was also issued by Delaware Probation and Parole, due to Mr. Allen being on probation, with a $100,000 bond set.
