SEAFORD — A wanted 33-year-old Bridgeville man was arrested Monday in connection with a June 18 shooting incident, Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.
Edward Stewart was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop in Seaford, authorities said. He had several active warrants for his arrest, according to authorities.
Police said Stewart was wanted after a 36-year-old woman was shot during an altercation on Beach Highway in Greenwood. A weapon was fired in the presence of two children, police said.
Cpl. DeMalto said Stewart was facing charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangering, aggravated menacing and endangering the welfare of a child (two counts). He was arraigned and then committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $116,000 cash bond.
