BRIDGEVILLE — A 25-year-old Bridgeville man was arrested on DUI, weapon and drug charges after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday, Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. Jason Hatchell said.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 3:46 a.m. in the 13000 block of Deer Forest Road. Troopers arrived to find a black BMW 328 in a ditch and contacted driver Robin Caceres. A black handgun was seen on the driver’s side floor, and odors of marijuana and alcohol were detected, according to Cpl. Hatchell.
Upon further search, troopers identified a Ruger 9 mm handgun and found approximately 60.99 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle, police said. Mr. Caceres was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while under the influence, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, criminal mischief, failure to remain in a single lane and failure to have insurance identification in possession. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3, Georgetown, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on an $11,400 secured bond.
