Chrislip, 72 DOVER - Brenda Muriel Chrislip died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. Brenda M. Chrislip was born May 26, 1940 in Dover to the late Homer Turner and Alfreda "Archer". Mrs. Chrislip was a 1958 graduate of Sudlersville High School. After graduation she went to work for Stafford & Clements in Sudlersville, Md. In 1968 she married her first husband George Irwin and lived in Smyrna and then moved to Daytona Beach, Fla. a few years later. She returned to Delaware in 1988. Brenda eventually went to work for Incorporating Services in Dover where she worked for several years before retiring. She was a member of Calvary Asbury Methodist Church in Sudlersville, Md. After retirement Brenda enjoyed working outside planting flowers, sitting at her pond and took pride in making her yard beautiful. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and going "licking and riding" where she would take her grandkids to McDonalds for ice cream cones and then go for a ride in the car. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Irwin in 1988; her father, Homer Turner in 1980; and her mother, Alfreda Littleton on Nov. 11, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Allen Chrislip of Dover; one daughter, Tara Thompson of Dover; one step-son, Christopher Chrislip of Fredericksburg, Md; one brother, Larry Rose of Dover; five grandchildren, Trevor Thompson of Smyrna, Meghan Thompson of Smyrna, Hayden Pierson of Dover, Wyatt Chrislip of Fredericksburg, Md, and Benjamin Chrislip of Fredericksburg, Md. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St, Millington, Md. Friends may call one hour prior.
