Beverly R. Witman, 66
LINCOLN - Beverly R. Witman of Lincoln died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, in Orange Beach, Ala., while visiting her son. She was 66.
Mrs. Whitman was employed by Chester Upland School District in Pennsylvania for many years. She was the former co-owner and operator of Cedar Creek Bait and Tackle Shop near Slaughter Beach for 20 years.
In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and hunting. She shared a passion for nature and their cats with her husband, George. Most recently she looked forward to sharing her retirement years with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Beard.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, George W. Witman; a son, George W. Witman Jr. of Orange Beach; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Denise and Bob McSweeney and Brenda and Dave Ptak; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandra and Paul Koch and Bea and Ray Borger; two grandsons, Christopher William Bidro and Corey Bidro; two granddaughters, Jennifer Ptak and Melissa Ptak; a brother-in-law, Russell G. Witman III and his wife, Judy; a sister-in-law, Frances L. Witman; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Jan. 27 in First Baptist Church, 6062 Old Shawnee Road, Milford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Pike County Humane Society, P.O. Box 255, Milford, PA 18337.
