GEORGETOWN - Betty Louise Betts passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Life Care at Lofland Park in Seaford. Ms. Betts was born in Georgetown, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Rhoda (Dorey) Rogers. She retired from NCR in Millsboro. She was a custodian at D T & C C in Georgetown for 10 years, retiring in 1995. Ms Betts was a member of St. Paul's U.M. Church in Laurel and a member of the Sussex Post #8 Georgetown Ambulance Squad. Betty enjoyed doing the Crop Walk, selling tickets to the Ho Down that was a benefit for the ambulance service and doing ceramics. Her greatest joy was family dinners and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. In addition to both parents Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Hammond; and her brother, Clifton Rogers. Betty is survived by her son, Donald L. Betts and wife Linda of Bridgeville; sister, Mary Brittingham of Georgetown; sister in law, Mary Rogers of Georgetown; and two nephews and their wives, Gary and Iva Rogers; Jerry and Maria Hammond both of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Michael Betts and his wife Susanne of Georgetown and Laina Betts also of Georgetown; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Betts, Brandon Betts, Adam Connelly, Savannah Massey and Logan Smith. A funeral service will be held on, Friday Jan. 4, 2013 at 1 p.m in the Chapel of Short Funeral services 609 East Market St. Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery Georgetown. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Sussex Post # 8 Georgetown American Legion Ambulance Service 406 N. Front Street Georgetown, De. 19947 or Alzheimer's Assoc. P.O. Box 625, Georgetown, DE 19947.
