Betty Jean Miller, 71 MADISON - Betty Jean Miller, 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. She was born in Laurel, MD on March 27, 1937 and was a daughter of the late Herbert F. and Ellen May Reeley Thompson Sr. Mrs. Miller graduated from Laurel High School in 1955. She was Miss Laurel High School in 1955. On Feb. 3, 1956 she married Ernest Miller. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. Mrs. Miller loved being with her grandchildren. Some of her hobbies were collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia and decorating for the holidays. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Miller of Madison; a daughter, Sharon Willey and husband, Tommy of Taylors Island; a son, Dennis Miller and wife, Wendy of Fredericksburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Tommy Willey, Danielle Grogg and Kyle Willey; two great-grandchildren, Angelina Grogg and Bryan Grogg; a brother, Herbert "Peewee" Thompson and wife, Barbara of Madison; a sister, Brenda Speigle of Morrisdale, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Thompson. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. A. Delmer Willey Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Pallbearers will be Richard Speigle, Herbert Thompson, Joey Thompson, Tommy Willey, Kyle Willey and Wendy Miller. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Dorchester County, P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Parkinson's disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018.
