Berton V. Parker

Camden Wyoming - Berton V. Parker passed away surrounded by his family, on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center. Berton was born in Hamstead, NH the son of the late Arthur E. and Ethel J. Parker. He served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years, serving in the Vietnam War before retiring as a First Class Petty Officer. He then worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a mail handler at the New Castle Post office on Boulden Blvd. for 13 years before retiring. Berton enjoyed fishing and loved to spend quality time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ellen Marie Caudill and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Billina Parker; two daughters, Imelda Quesenberry and her husband, William, of Virginia, Jane Simonsen and her husband, Todd, of Dover; one son, Berton V. Parker, Jr., of Wilmington; one sister, Ellen LaRouche, of Mass., one brother, Gary Merkel, of N.C.; a son-in-law, Kevin Krieg, of Va. as well as many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, December 1, 2014. Burial with military honors will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE at 1 p.m.
