Schiavello, 69 FREDERICA - Bernadette Schiavello of Frederica passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Christiana Hospital. She was 69. Mrs. Schiavello was born April 26, 1945 in Wilmington, to the late Benjamin Gulczynski and Jane E. Conner Gulczynski. She had worked for 20 years as a hairdresser, as well as making wigs for cancer survivors. Mrs. Schiavello had also worked for the City of Wilmington in the Police Parking Enforcement Department. She had worked with her husband Don in sales for their business Auto Body Supply in Dover. She loved dancing and listening to music, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and watching NASCAR but especially being with her friends and family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Lester in 2011; and stepson, Donald Schiavello, Jr. in 2013. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Donald Schiavello, Sr. of Frederica; brother, Benjamin Gulczynski of Wilmington; sisters, Margie Rifenburgh and her husband Doug of Milton, Deborah McGonigle and her husband David of Dover; grandchildren, Donald Schiavello, III and Deanna Schiavello both of Wilmington. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, #205, New Castle, DE 19720. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
