Beef and Beer to benefit Harrington Past Fire Chief

Posted

HARRINGTON — Officers and members will be hosting a Beef And Beer Fundraiser at Harrington Fire Company to benefit past Chief Jimmy Green, who suffered a sudden and significant medical episode while responding to a crash.

The fundraiser will be held July 17 from 4 to 9 p.m., at 20 Clark St., in Harrington.

Chief Green has served the Harrington community and surrounding areas for over 35 years.

On Saturday, June 19, 2021, while operating on the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash with entrapment with the Harrington Fire Company, Chief Green suffered a sudden and significant medical episode.

Chief Green was transported to a local medical center. During the course of his treatment, Chief Green’s condition worsened, at which time he was transferred to Christiana Hospital, where he is currently being treated.

Funds raised will be placed in a trust fund to help offset any costs.

The meal will consist of pit beef, corn on the cob, potato salad, beer and soda. Cost is $25 per person or $45 per couple. A bottomless wine glass can be purchased.

There will also be raffles, 50/50 and both a live auction and silent auction. Check the Harrington Fire Company website updates on auction items and a list of items. Tickets can be purchased and donations made by visiting online.

If anyone would like to make a monetary donation or donate an item for the live or silent auction, arrangements can be made to get it picked up.
