Beebe welcomes new gastroenterology and infectious disease specialists

LEWES — Beebe Healthcare this week announced the appointment of two new specialty providers.

Focused on the advancement of gastroenterology and infectious disease services, respectively, Dr. Tiffany Edwards and Clare Holmes are committed to delivering comprehensive, outcomes-based care for patients with a range of medical needs, the health system said in a press release.

Dr. Edwards is a nurse practitioner who provides comprehensive care for adult patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal issues. In addition to caring for outpatients at Beebe Gastroenterology in Lewes, she sees individuals who have been admitted to the hospital for more complex issues.

She is a graduate of The University of Alabama, where she earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Additionally, she earned both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Wilmington University, and a nursing diploma from Beebe’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.

She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Locally, Dr. Edwards is a member of the Delaware Cancer Consortium Early Detection & Prevention Committee and previously served as a co-chair of the Sussex County Health Coalition Health Committee.

She became a registered nurse in 2001 and a nurse practitioner in 2009. She entered family practice at Cedar Tree Medical Center in Millsboro, then worked as a nurse practitioner for Nanticoke Health Services’ school-based clinic and as an adjunct faculty member for Wilmington University’s nurse practitioner program. During that time, Dr. Edwards also worked intermittently at Beebe’s Walk-In Care clinics.

“I grew up in Sussex County and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School, so this area has always been home to me,” she said. “I am happy to now be raising (my) own family in the community that I love.”

Ms. Holmes is a physician assistant who provides comprehensive, outpatient-based care for adults, with a focus on the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. She is a graduate of DeSales University, where she earned a Master of Science in physician assistant studies, as well as a Bachelor of Science in medical studies. She is licensed to practice in Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Beebe, Ms. Holmes worked for Infectious Disease Associates in Newark, where she was responsible for diagnosing and treating illnesses in office and hospital settings, both in person and virtually. Earlier on, Ms. Holmes worked as a primary care provider in Pennsylvania.

“I am excited about the opportunity to be part of Beebe Healthcare, an organization that is well established and organized but is also interested in growing, improving and innovating,” she said.
