MILFORD — Bayhealth recently added certified nurse midwife Theresa Piper, to its Bayhealth Women’s Care, Sussex Campus team.

Ms. Piper joins four Obstetrician-Gynecologists in the practice — Dr. Miaohou Xu, Dr. Melisa Edler, Dr. Roni Dermo and Dr. Reiesha Graham. Ms. Piper is the first midwife on the team and is currently accepting new patients, at 101 Wellness Way, Suite 300 in Milford.

The practice is part of Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of physicians, their clinical staff and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware.

With a more than 10-year career in nursing, Ms. Piper worked as a registered nurse in labor and delivery nurse at Bayhealth for most of that time. She earned a Master of Science degree in nursing/midwifery from Frontier Nursing University.  In addition to obstetric services and deliveries, Ms. Piper also provides a range of women’s health care in the office setting. This includes prenatal care, postpartum support, family planning and contraception counseling, and other education and treatment to keep women well.
