Barbara Louise Lane

Barbara Louise Lane, 88 DOVER - Barbara Louise Lane, of Dover, died Monday August 4, 2008, in her home. She was 88. Mrs. Lane was born Feb. 19, 1920, to the late Ralph Stubbs and Mildred Sterling Harris Stubbs. She was a bookkeeper but dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a member of the Capitol Baptist Church, Dover. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Col. Ralph H. Lane Jr., June 3, 2007. She is survived by her son, Douglas E. Lane of Warner Robins, Ga.; three daughters, Glenda Lane Smith of Nokesville, Va., Sterling M. Williamson of Pulaski, N.Y. and Marilyn M. Burton of Clifton, Va.; her sister, Margaret L. Stubbs of Alexandria, Va.; sister in law, Doris M. Perry of San Diego, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery, Manchester, Mass.
