MILFORD - Barbara H. Emory passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014. She was 73, had a heart of gold and will be sadly missed by all. Mrs. Emory was born in Milford, the daughter of the late William Henry Sapp and Estelle (Jones) Sapp. She was employed by Playtex as a secretary for many years, and Service Oil Co, and also worked at ACE Hardware in Milford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laurance Winfield Emory, Jr.; five brothers, Dewey E. Sapp Sr., William H. Sapp, John F. Sapp, Donald J. Sapp, Harry J. Sapp; and two sisters, Josephine Wechtenheiser, and Mary Ellen Grunden. She is survived by her two sisters, Bertha Sapp Houston of Lancaster, Pa., Betty E. Patrick of Harrington; brother-in-laws, Cecil Emory and Doug Emory; sister-in-law, Eleanor Emory; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963 where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be in the Milford Community Cemetery.
