Reynolds Yerkie Beck, 76 WORTON - Audrey Marie Reynolds Yerkie Beck, died on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Chester River Hospital Center. Born on Feb. 16, 1936, in Kiblers Corner, Md., she was the daughter of the late Herman W. Reynolds and Martha M. (Bartz) Blackiston. Mrs. Beck was educated in Chestertown High School with the class of 1955. She married on May 7, 1953, to Donald B. Yerkie who predeceased her in 1963. Mrs. Beck re-married on January 30, 1964 to Robert F. Beck. She made her home on the family farm in Worton, Md. Mrs. Beck worked briefly with Gratitude Restaurant and the Washington College Snack Bar. She then worked with Campbell's Soup and Tidewater Publishing. She retired from Tidewater Publishing Corporation in the mid 1980's to care for her husband. He predeceased her in 1990. Mrs. Beck enjoyed gardening, flowers, and especially her family. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by four daughters, Doris Yerkie Griener of Queen Anne, Md., Bobbie Sue Townsend and husband Alvin of Rutherfordton, N.C., Robin Beck-Brown and husband Charles of Chestertown, Md., and Martha Beck-Brown and husband Tim of Rutherfordton, N.C.; a son, Roger K. Yerkie and wife Cathy of Still Pond, Md.; ten grandchildren, Traci Haas, Donnie and Jeremy Yerkie, Alvin III, Lori and Raymond Townsend, Channell and Mickey Brown, Mindy and Robby Smith; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Marcus, Mya, Alvin IV, and Gwyn; two sisters, Nancy Dickerson of Millington, Md., Linda Hewes and husband Frank of Townsend, Del.; two brothers, Walter Reynolds and wife Gladys of Worton, Md. and Herman Reynolds and wife Dianne of Worton, Md. She was predeceased by two sisters, Wanda Kendall and Lillian Reynolds; and a brother, Norman Bartz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. 130 Speer Road Chestertown, MD where relatives and friends may call one hour prior (1 to 2 p.m.) Interment will be in Chester Cemetery following the service.
