Arthur Lee Howard, 84 MARION STATION - Arthur Lee Howard, 84, of Marion Station, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield following a brief battle with lymphoma. Born Dec. 20, 1925, in Rehobeth, Md., he was a son of the late Asbury and Cecil Henderson Howard. A graduate of Marion High School class of 1943, he was a life-long farmer and retired school bus driver of Bus #34 which he drove for more than 25 years. Arthur was a people-person who enjoyed talking with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling with his grandchildren, especially to Lancaster, Williamsburg, and Hershey Park. Even in his later years, farming was still a big part of his life. He greatly enjoyed watching other local farmers harvest their crops and loved delivering flowers and vegetables to friends. He was an active long-time member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Usher and Trustee. He was also past-president of the Somerset County School Bus Contractors Association and was an Honorary Member of the Maryland State School Bus Contractors Association. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Neva Rae Ward Howard of Marion; three children, Ellen Dize and her husband Johnny, Donnie Howard, and Joyce Morgan and her husband Russell, all of Crisfield; four grandchildren, Lisa, Lori and John Dize, Jr., and Megan Morgan, all of Crisfield; a brother, Earl Howard and his wife Doris of Marion; a brother-in-law, Howard Ward and his wife Ellen of Crisfield; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were Thursday, Dec. 31, at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David Parke officiated. Interment was private in Rehoboth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, c/o Robert Hess, 32203 Hess Road, Marion, MD 21838 or to McCready Memorial Hospital/Med-Surg Unit, c/o Myrna Bozman, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.
