DOVER - Arthur "Tyrone" Baileywas called home to rest on Oct. 20, 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 33 years, Elmira. Tyrone was born on March 1, 1948 in Wilmington, Del., to the late Arthur Oscar Bailey and Emaline Bailey. He was the oldest of five children. He attended Booker T. Washington Elementary School, William Henry High School, and Graduated from Dover High School in 1967. Tyrone also attended Delaware State College, now Delaware State University. After one year at Delaware State University he decided to leave Delaware and went to live with relatives in Chester, Pa., and then to Pittsburgh, Pa., where he attended Robert Morris College. Tyrone loved to work and help people. Several jobs included Gimbels Department Store, The City of Pittsburgh as an Employment Specialist, Hill House Association as an Employment specialist and Desi Corp. (Pittsburgh Job Corps) as a job developer. He had a passion for bowling, playing basketball, running/exercising and playing horses. He loved sports, especially Pittsburgh Steelers football and Pitt basketball, and game shows on TV. Not a day went by without him watching The Price is Right. He was a quiet man, though he loved to sing! In 1979, he married Elmira (Barnes/Collins) and became stepfather to James Casey Collins (Tanisha) of Pittsburgh, Teresa Marie Rodney of Pittsburgh and Fred Jamel Collins of Maryland. Through this union he was also blessed with nine grandchildren, Renee'a, Payton, Ari, Evan, Melaj, Jamel, Bryson, Jayden and Elijah. Tyrone leaves to morn his family noted above plus his sisters, Patti Weldon (Lester) and Michele Bailey; his brothers, Reginald Bailey, all of Dover and Shelton Bailey of Milsboro; one sister-in-law, Annette Bailey of Dover, nieces, Rachelle Bridles of Dover, Shontai Moore of Wilmington and Regina Bailey of Dover; nephew, Lovelle Sudler Sr.; and four great nieces; and six great nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. Tyrone was a gentle man, filled with kindness and love and will be sorely missed by all. Rest in Peace. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 27, 2012 at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division Street, Dover. www.benniesmithfuneralhome.
