Dover man arrested in April shooting near Irish Mike’s

DOVER — A 25-year-old Dover man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting in front of Irish Mike’s Olde Towne Pub last month, authorities said.

Dover police said a warrant was obtained for Jon Henry, and he was taken into custody in the front yard of his residence in the 1400 block of South Farmview Drive around 4:52 p.m.

Dover officers and the U.S. Marshals’ First State Fugitive Task Force made the apprehension.

Police also executed a search warrant at the home, which spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said yielded a 9 mm handgun, 56.3 grams of cocaine and 969.1 grams of marijuana.

During the April 16 incident, a 29-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his upper legs, police said. He was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover and later released.

Mr. Henry was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited (three counts), possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $116,200 cash bond.
