LAUREL - A 27-year-old Delmar man has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 18-year-old Corey Mumford in Laurel April 14, Delaware State Police said.
Spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said Jhair Henry was taken into custody Friday in Salisbury, Maryland. He will be charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and first-degree conspiracy upon extradition to Delaware, authorities said.
Police said Mr. Mumford, a senior at Laurel High School, died from multiple wounds suffered when shot near the 100 block of Sunset Drive in Wexford Village Apartments. Police were called to the scene at approximately 2:40 p.m. Detectives developed Mr. Henry as one of the suspects allegedly involved in the homicide, police said.
