DOVER — A 19-year-old Dover man was arrested on firearm and related charges following a shooting incident Monday morning, authorities said.

Dover Police spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said investigation began at 10:30 a.m., when officers were called to Harmony Lane for the report of shots fired.

An investigation ensued, Cpl. Schmid said, and police determined that Javon Johnson was responsible for the shooting.

Police said that during the incident, a vehicle that was occupied by a 20-year-old Smyrna woman was struck by gunfire. She was not injured during this shooting.

Mr. Johnson was taken into custody without incident inside an apartment in the 200 block of Harmony Lane, police said.

Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence. As a result of the search warrant, officers located a loaded Glock 9mm handgun, police said.

Mr. Johnson was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited (two counts) and first-degree reckless endangering. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $26,000 cash bail.
