FBC--MICHIGAN-SIGN STEALING

Michigan’s sign-stealer, Conor Stalions, says he knew most signals in 7 games over 2 seasons

SUMMARY: Former Michigan football staff member Connor Stalions says he knew almost every signal opponents used in seven games over two seasons. Stalions shared those details Saturday on social media, responding to TCU coach Sonny Dykes telling On3 that his team changed some signs in advance of its win over the Wolverines in the 2022 College Football semifinals. Stalions’ actions triggered an NCAA investigation. Michigan had a hearing with the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions last month, and the governing body takes three months on average for contested cases to make a final decision.

SOC--FIFA-PLAYER WELFARE

FIFA says it has reached consensus with several players’ unions on minimum rest standards

SUMMARY: FIFA says it has reached an agreement with several players’ representatives to prioritize player welfare. They’ve agreed on a 72-hour rest period between matches and a minimum 21-day holiday at the end of each season. The discussions took place before the Club World Cup final. But FIFPRO, the sport’s global players’ union, did not take part in the discussions. FIFA emphasized that players’ health is a top priority amid growing concerns about injuries and burnout. Implementing the 72-hour rule could disrupt game schedules and TV deals, especially in leagues like the Bundesliga. FIFA also plans to consider travel demands and climate conditions in future competition planning.

She now adds this triumph to her four on the French Open’s clay and one from the U.S. Open’s hard courts and is only missing an Australian Open title to complete a career Grand Slam.
