DOVER - Anthony P. Pecora died on Feb. 5, 2014 at home surrounded by his wife, sister Tina and brother-in-law Will at his side. Born on March 24, 1941, he was the first child to Dominick Joseph Pecora and Frances Roppoccio Pecora. He was a devoted member of Grace Church in Dover. He cherished the pastors at Grace and also all of those special friends that he formed over the last ten years. Tony was a friend to many and gave of himself to others, never asking for anything in return. He possessed a rare goodness, which was illuminated again and again by a spontaneous and kindly manner. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard and a sister, Katherine. He was also predeceased by a step mother Carmela Destefani Pecora. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Pecora (Clarke); five children, Edward and Deborah of N.Y., Anthony and Teresa of Fla., and Christopher of Del. He is also survived by a sister, Angela and a brother, David of Fla., brothers, John, Joseph, Kenneth, Frank and Donald of N.Y. and sisters, Christina and Carol Jean of N.Y. He is also survived by an Uncle, Cosmo Roppoccio of N.C., Aunts, Madelyn Pecora, Patricia Vaccaro, and Antonette Pecora of N.Y.; five step siblings, Denise, Dominick Jr., Vincent, Peter and Karen along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Surviving also is his beloved cats, Peanut, Rusty and Smokey. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in his hometown of Peekskill, New York. A special thank you to all the staff and coworkers at Bayhealth Kent General for their care and support during his illness. Thank you also to Delaware Hospice for their kind compassion at the end of his life. Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Church, 350 McKee Road, Dover, or to the Kent County SPCA.
