TANGIER, Va. - Annie Virginia 'Ginny' Charnock, 83, of Tangier, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield. Born on Tangier, Aug. 31, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John Wes and Dora Ellen Parks Charnock. She was the former owner and operator of The Beanery Sandwich Shop for 22 years, and was manager of Charles Charnock & Son Crab House. She was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. Ginny was a very generous person who cared deeply about others. She loved helping people, she always supported her church, and she loved music. She is survived by her sister, Henrietta Wheatley of Tangier; a special cousin, Jean Autry of Tangier; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Crockett; and four brothers, Joe Vaughn Charnock, Grover Charnock, John Ed Charnock, and Charles "Pooge" Charnock. Funeral services officiated by Mr. Duane Crockett and Mrs. Sandra King were Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier where friends called Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Interment was in the Charnock Family Cemetery.
