
DOVER - Anne Tewes Moyer passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at Kent General Hospital, with her family at her bedside. Anne was born in Baltimore, Md. in 1924. She was a 1942 graduate of Baltimore's Institute of Notre Dame High School. In addition to lifelong devotion to family and friends, she pursued a wide range of interests. She was an artist in ceramics and acrylic paints; played trumpet; sang in church choirs; and held certificates in automobile mechanics and body work. Anne greatly enjoyed family vacations in New England, Atlantic City, N.J. and Ocean City, Md. In Baltimore, she served as a substitute elementary school teacher in public and parochial schools, and was a science laboratory aid in a Baltimore County junior high school for several years. Anne was also a Parent Teacher Association President in her children's elementary school. She was preceded in death by her parents, Linton Omar and Anna Burke Tewes; brothers, Paul and Linton. Anne is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert S. Moyer of Dover; sister, Marjorie Fullem and her husband Roland of Bel Air, Md.; brother, Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. Tewes of Nottingham, Md.; daughter Carol Anne Day-Weber and her husband Warren of College Point, N.Y.; sons, Robert S. Moyer, Jr. of Dover, Dennis Moyer and his wife Cheryl of Fleetwood, Pa.; granddaughter, Amanda Lorinc and her husband John of Atlanta, Ga.; grandsons, Gregory Moyer of Pottstown, Pa., Daniel Day and his wife Kelly of Felton; and four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Shyanne, Joshua and Jaxson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
