Anne Evans Clendaniel, 88
HARRINGTON - Anne Evans Clendaniel of Harrington, past executive director of the Arthritis Foundation, founder and editor of the "Communion," Delaware's Episcopal Newspaper, and coordinator of communications for Delaware Senior Consultants, died Monday, March 19, 2007, in Wilmington. She was 88.
Anne was known for her love of literature, art and music. She published poetry from 1938 to 1955.
She was a member and instructor at the Academy of Life Long Learning, Delaware Press Women and past member and president of the Quota Club.
She predeceased by her husband, H. Edgar Clendaniel; and her daughter, Mary Catherine and her husband Peter Culver.
She is survived by her son, Jack Clendaniel and his wife Susan. She also had six grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Roman, Craig, Abigail and her husband Anthony, Juliane and her husband Matthew, Megan and Timothy; and three great-grandchildren, Peter, Adaysia and Sofia.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
