(Lovey) Gassaway, 50 DOVER - Andrea Michelle (Lovey) Gassaway passed away on Sat., Apr. 11, 2015. Lovey was born Dec. 18, 1964 in Wilmington to Pauline Pierce and Rochester Gassaway and loving step-father Author Pierce. Lovey attended Middletown High School. While there she was in the J.R.O.T.C. program. She went on to have 3 sons. As a mother, her love was unconditional, patient, and forgiving. Lovey was a role model and best friend to her children. Lovey was a woman who lived up to her name. She was loving, caring, and sincere to others. Her dedication and compassion was evident. She was employed at Pinnacle for 30 years, serving as a nursing assistant and Union Vice President. Lovey had a sense of humor that would put a smile on every face. She had a bubbly but no nonsense personality. She touched many people with her empathy and guidance. She was a second mother, and counselor to many. She was very popular and loved by all. Lovey was preceded in death by her brother, Rochester Gassaway; and her grandparents. She is survived by her three sons, Rodney, Patrick, and Mahalon Gassaway; four sisters, Theo Hudson, Sonia Gassaway, Paula Pierce and Catherine Ransom; Godchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and family; best friends, Rachelle Johnson and Stacey Campbell; and daughter in heart, Josina Edmond; friends and extended family at Pinnacle. Home going services will be held 11 a.m. on Mon., Apr. 20, 2015 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 883 Lincoln St. Dover, where friends may view 9-11 a.m. Burial will be in Lee-Haven U.M.
