Alvin Frederick Kruger

GEORGETOWN - Alvin Frederick "Buzz" Kruger, 76, of Georgetown passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 suddenly at his home. Buzz had an interest in farming at an early time and he was still involved at 76 years of age. Buzz first started as a chicken farmer alongside his father and two brothers. It was called the Kackle Farm and was located outside of Georgetown. After his father passed, the three brothers formed the Kruger Farms, Inc. Buzz loved to socialize and was helpful to all. He was quite interested in John Deere farm equipment. He was a veteran of the Delaware National Guard. He belonged to the Midland Grange #27, Nanticoke Tribe Redman #21, and Farm Bureau of Delaware. He was also manager of the MeGee Tax Ditch and Gums Crossroad Tax Ditch. He was a member of the Wesley U.M. Church in Georgetown. Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Josephine Kruger; daughter, Trudy Kruger. He is also survived by brothers, Frank and Paul Kruger, Sr.; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. He especially loved his dogs, Chewy, Tinky, and the cow Kurly Q. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2015 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or Monday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
