Allen A. Avis

FELTON - Allen A. Avis, and formally of Bradenton, Fla., passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Sept. 7, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Allen was born in Bronx, N.Y. on Feb. 9, 1925. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and served in Europe during WWII. Allen was a professional photographer known widely for his nature and seascape images. He was predeceased by wife Sonia and his sister Edith. Allen is survived by his loving children, daughter, Karen Cleary and her husband Tom of Felton, Del.; and son Paul Avis of Maine; his loving grandchildren, Thomas, Heather, Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Sonia and Addison; as well as many nieces; nephews; and friends. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. In respect of Allens wishes he will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Delaware Hospice in memory of Allen. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Milford. http://www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com/
