ST. GEORGES — Bill Alexander has filed as a Republican candidate to represent the 12th Senatorial District, which includes New Castle, Delaware City, St. Georges, Port Penn, Red Lion, Bear and northern Middletown.
Mr. Alexander is a first-time seeker of public office and looks to be a fresh voice with a different perspective than the Democratic incumbent, Nicole Poore.
An Army and National Guard veteran and retired 25-year Delaware State Police trooper, he works as a full-time faculty member at Delaware Technical Community College and operates a small business for defensive-driving instruction.
“It’s time we return to the concept that elected officials serve the people who elected them to office, not the other way around,” Mr. Alexander said. “Regardless of party affiliation, personal beliefs or place in society, all people are created equally and deserve to be represented equally by a person who has truly and clearly vowed to do so.”
