SEAFORD - Albert Lindsay Halpen passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 in the Country Rest Home in Greenwood. Born in Wilmington, the son of the late Emma E. Andrews and William L. Halpen. He was an accountant for William G. Saulsbury, CPA of Seaford. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Virgil Wilson Post 4961 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nanticoke Post 6 American Legion, and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, all in Seaford. He is survived by a sister, Linda Halpen of Westover, Md.; an aunt, June Van Vorst of Laurel; a brother and sister-in-law, Sue and Jim Ellis of Seaford; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; two great-great-nieces and three great-great nephews. In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna Lynn Ellis Halpen, in July 2010. A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in the Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King Sts., Seaford, DE. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford, DE.
